Dappled Canyon
Dappled Canyon
The most prominent rock formation visible when looking toward the North Rim of the Grand Canyon from Mather Point is Zoroaster Temple. This towering butte, with its striking pyramid-like shape, rises prominently above the canyon floor. Zoroaster Temple is part of the Grand Canyon's iconic layered rock formations, showcasing vivid colors ranging from deep reds and purples to lighter shades of beige and white. Its steep cliffs and rugged silhouette make it stand out among the other formations, offering a dramatic focal point in the sweeping vista visible from Mather Point.
At sunrise, the Grand Canyon comes alive with dappled light that dances across its towering walls, casting a warm, golden glow over the rugged landscape. As the sun rises, its soft rays filter through the canyon’s vast ridges and peaks, illuminating the intricate layers of red, orange, and pink rock. Piercing through sporadic breaks in the dense cloud cover on this day, the sunlight splashed in dappled spots over Zoroaster Temple and the surrounding rock faces. Shadows and light interweave, highlighting the textures and deep crevices of the canyon walls, creating a striking contrast between the sunlit cliffs and the darker, shadowed depths below.
TruLife Lumachrome HD Acrylic Fine Art Prints
The highest tier of fine art prints that I offer are all original photo prints residing under TruLife acrylic glass with Lumachrome HD paper. These pieces are produced using only the best materials available to provide brilliance and longevity of the prints. Lumachrome HD is a proprietary photo paper made from resin coated photo paper with a mirror smooth high gloss finish and utilizing Transparency Color Layer Technology. After creating the fine art photographic print, it is then face mounted behind a sheet of crystal clear acrylic. The TruLife acrylic provides a scratch resistant and non reflective glass surface with 99% UV protection that still displays vibrant colors. Each piece is then finished with a deluxe museum quality Roma HD backing frame.
Ultra Vibrant Acrylic Fine Art Prints
Unlike traditional acrylic, Ultra Vibrant acrylic printing utilizes a new state-of-the-art method of printing directly on the acrylic. Due to the layering of ink on the acrylic, an almost 3D rendering is produced with incredible vibrancy. By not using the TruLife acrylic and Lumachrome HD paper, we are able to provide a cost-effective print rivaling the quality of the Lumachrome prints while providing a distinctly different rendering in comparison.
Chromaluxe Aluminum Fine Art Prints
The Chromaluxe metal print option for my photographs is created by taking a thin aluminum photo panel designed by Chromaluxe and coating it with multiple specially formulated polymer layers. The polymer provides scratch, fire, fade, and water resistance to these stunning prints while also remaining lightweight. The printing process uses dye sublimation, which infuses the printing dyes directly into the metal panel, which provides archival level quality. Metal printing infuses vibrant colors with a depth that is difficult to match with traditional paper printing.
Loose Fine Art Lustre Paper Prints
For those interested in something smaller and simpler, I have available loose, unframed paper prints available. These are printed on fine art lustre paper with a semi-gloss surface that provides a pleasant depth of colors and contrast. As these prints are provided as-is, they end up being the cheapest option available, however they are not included in the limited edition count that the acrylic and aluminum prints are part of.
