About the Prints

The Ultimate Expression of Photography

I have found that looking at an image online does not provide the same experience as standing in front of a large print on one of your own walls in your home. As I have printed more and more of my work in various sizes, it is incredible how differently that physical format can evoke an emotion or thought for the viewer. Every time I get the opportunity to introduce people to larger format prints in person, it is truly a joy to listen to them talk about how much more moving it is for them to view.

I explain below about each of the formats of printing that I utilize and offer on this site for purchase. If you have any questions about any of this or the print galleries, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone at (281) 947-2099.

Formats

My prints are available in three general formats:

  • Acrylic Fine Art Prints - This method involves adhering the highest quality paper prints to a sheet of acrylic. This gives an incredible depth and vibrance to the photo due to the way the light reacts while passing through the acrylic sheet. There is a float mount frame on the back of these making it ready to hang as soon as it arrives. No additional framing required.

  • Aluminum Fine Art Prints - This printing method infuses color dyes into a sheet of aluminum that is coated with layers of polymer. The metal lends a brilliant, reflective viewing format to each photo that really accentuates colors. There is a float mount frame on the back of these making it ready to hang as soon as it arrives. No additional framing required.

  • Museum Quality Prints - This is the traditional photographic print made with only the finest paper and pigments. Just as with the acrylic and aluminum options, these are archival grade prints that will stand the test of time. We sell these as prints alone, so they will need to be framed before hanging.

Hanging

Both of the acrylic formats and the Chromaluxe aluminum prints come ready to hang with a float mount that does not require any extra framing before adding the artwork to your wall. Float mounts provide a clean aesthetic that can create a powerful emphasis on the artwork.

Our museum quality paper prints come as prints alone. Matting and framing will be required before displaying. Framing is important for how it enhances the visual appeal of a photo, and different framing materials or colors will alter the feel of the photo. A nice simple style is the classic dark frame with a white mat that you have probably seen in many places before. It tends to complement most photos and interiors quite well. Whatever your interior color palettes are can inform your mat and frame choices. Framing will also provide protection from UV rays and dirt to further preserve the longevity of your prints. Any framing shop should have a good selection of glass or acrylic to place in front of your print to provide the the best viewing quality and protection.

Shipping anywhere in the continental US is included at no additional cost for each print. Please contact me if you wish to ship outside of this region. I will more than happily work with you for any international shipping needs.

truLife Lumachrome HD Acrylic fine art prints

The highest tier of fine art prints that I offer are all original photo prints residing under TruLife acrylic glass with Lumachrome HD paper. These pieces are produced using only the best materials available to provide brilliance and longevity of the prints. Lumachrome HD is a proprietary photo paper made from resin coated photo paper with a mirror smooth high gloss finish and utilizing Transparency Color Layer Technology. After creating the fine art photographic print, it is then face mounted behind a sheet of crystal clear acrylic. The TruLife acrylic provides a scratch resistant and non reflective glass surface with 99% UV protection that still displays vibrant colors. Each piece is then finished with a deluxe museum quality Roma HD backing frame.

Ultra Vibrant Acrylic fine art prints

Unlike traditional acrylic, Ultra Vibrant acrylic printing utilizes a new state-of-the-art method of printing directly on the acrylic. Due to the layering of ink on the acrylic, an almost 3D rendering is produced with incredible vibrancy. By not using the TruLife acrylic and Lumachrome HD paper, we are able to provide a more cost-effective print without sacrificing any of the quality craftsmanship of the Lumachrome prints and providing a slightly different rendering when light hits the photograph.

Chromaluxe Aluminum Fine Art Prints

The Chromaluxe metal print option for my photographs is created by taking a thin aluminum photo panel designed by Chromaluxe and coating it with multiple specially formulated polymer layers. The polymer provides scratch, fire, fade, and water resistance to these stunning prints while also remaining lightweight. The printing process uses dye sublimation, which infuses the printing dyes directly into the metal panel, which provides archival level quality. Metal printing infuses vibrant colors with a depth that is difficult to match with traditional paper printing.

Loose Fine Art Lustre Paper Prints

For those interested in something smaller and simpler, I have available loose, unframed paper prints available. These are printed on fine art lustre paper with a semi-gloss surface that provides a pleasant depth of colors and contrast. As these prints are provided as-is, they end up being the cheapest option available, however they are not included in any of the limited edition counts that some of the acrylic and aluminum prints are part of.
